Great news to share! We have been awarded a grant from the Texas Historical Commission to refurbish the roofs of six White Train nuclear weapons transport cars. We will receive $36,000 from THC and match that with $36,000 from our treasury for a total project of $72,000. We won't start the project, per THC guidelines, until January 2005. This is a fantastic step toward getting the White Train completely restored to its original condition, and the development of an interpretational display. More on this project as it unfolds.

On another topic, we had a great time at the annual Oklahoma City Train Show. Ten members attended and helped make the show a success once again. We made a tidy profit in spite of nasty weather both days (lots and lots of rain).

Oh, in regard to the photo on the home page, girls really do like trains!
