These are useed but work fine. We are changing from a Digitrax PM42 and Team Digital BlocD8 system to Digitrax BXP88s and BXPA1s We have been extremely happy with these units. These list on eBay from $82.23 to $104.67. In addition, we will include an Accu-Lites PM42 Breadboard that makes installation very easy compared to soldering leads into the usual header. Since they have been used, we are selling them for $45 each plus shipping. Yep, $45 for a PM42 and a Breadboard!
Although we know they will work, if you are not satisfied, we will take them back.
If you are not familiar with the PM42, according to Digitrax: The PM42 can control 4 independent power sub-districts that can each be setup as either a "Short Circuit Manager" (default) or an "Auto-ReversingController." Each of the 4 sub-districts can be set for slow, regular, faster orfastest short circuit management depending on the needs of the user. A separatebooster can power each of these sub-districts or multiple boosters can powerany combination. Each PM42 requires a 12 to 18V AC or DC 125mA powersupply (sold separately such as Digitrax PS14). One power supply (125mA perPM42) can power more than one PM42 as long as it provides 125mA perPM42 and is not used to power any other device. DO NOT share a power supplybetween your PM42 and any command station or booster on the layout.Digitrax does not recommend sharing a power supply between one or more PM42s and any other device on the layout.
Regarding the Breadboard: The PM42 breakout board is set up to accept up to 2 inputs and 4 distinct outputs. Each output can be configured with jumpers to make it a reversing section. The board comes with one set of jumpers that allows you to set that particular section to reversing, assuming the correct OpSwitches have been set inside the PM42's memory.
