Guy Pigg

Whether it was wiring Junior Yard or running his favorite Santa Fe passenger units through what will be Pampa, TX, Guy truly loved the Amarillo Railroad Museum. He was a fan of the Rock Island and Santa Fe railroads.  He was proud of his growing Santa Fe Passenger fleet and Rock Island freight train roster.  In addition to the many hours spent as an energetic member of the organization, Guy also enjoyed short-wave radio, flying (very close to his instrument rating at the time of his death), and motorcycles.  Guy was a deeply religious man.  All of us at one time or another heard is favorite greeting "Have a blessed day." In fact, Guy was enjoying his faith and his love of motorcycles when he was tragically killed by a reckless driver while on his motorcycle cruising back to Amarillo from Easter Sunday Sunrise Service in Palo Duro Canyon in 2015.  His death was hard for all of us being so tragic and unexpected, but we all know Guy is still looking after us.
